Description
Now, first part of the costume is finished. The corset for the Corpse Bride Gown. I really like it though the pic shows only half of the torn lace.
The corset is made of two layers of unbleached and undyed cotton with steel boning between them. Yes, it's a real corset with steel inside. The bones are really dark blue fabric with painting on them. The fabric is sewn between the two cotton layers and the upper one is torn there to show the ribcage. The whole thing is covered (more or less) with a lace I dyed blue. The edges are torn with an almost blunt knife. Same goes for the lace itself. Finishing touches by fake pearls. Backlacing.

hmmm what did you use for the boning? i know you used metal but what kind and where did you get it? you see im making a black corsett for my sister and im just using plastic boning cuz i cant find metal, and let me tell you that the plastic stuff does not work as well as metal. id buy one but they are pretty damn expensive , and by the way i love your design i think its amazing that you can put these peices together.
